Sesame Schezwan Veg Toast

A super snack or starter of crisp fried toasts covered with a veggie filling and crunchy sesame is a dish oozing umaminess that can be easily replicated at home without any hassle. Get creative with the filling and experiment with the flavours of Del Monte.

Ingredients

2 Tbsp Refined Oil
2 No.s Bread (Sliced)
1/4 Tsp Garlic (Finley Chopped)
1/4 Tsp Green Chili (Finley Chopped)
2 Tbsp Onion (Chopped)
2 Tbsp Carrot (Chopped)
1 Tbsp Capsicum (Chopped)
2 Tbsp Cabbage (Chopped)
4 Tbsp Potato (Boiled & Mashed)
2 DelMonte Whole Corn Kernel
2 Tsp DelMonte Schezwan Sauce
1 Tsp DelMonte Brewed Vinegar
1 TBSP Soya Sauce
- Salt To Taste
1/2 Tsp Castor Sugar
1 Tsp Fresh Coriander (Finley Chopped)
2 Tbsp Sesame Seeds

Method


  1. In a pan heat oil, add chopped garlic, ginger, green chili and saute till its raw smell is gone.
  2. Now add chopped onion, carrot, capsicum, cabbage, DelMonte Whole Corn Kernel and saute for atleast 30 seconds on medium flame.
  3. Add DelMonte Schezwan Sauce, DelMonte Brewed Vinegar, soya sauce, castor sugar and mix well. Add mashed potato, seasonings,
  4. chopped coriander and mix it well.
  5. Keep it aside to cool.
  6. Spread vegetable stuffing on bread slices.
  7. Now take 2 Tbsp os sesame seeds in a plate. Place the filling side facing the sesame seeds, so that sesame seeds sticks to it.
  8. Press the sesame seeds with spoon or clean fingers so thst they stick to the filling.
  9. Heat 1 to 2 tablespoons oil in a tawa or frying pan. Place the bread slices with the sesame seeds side touching the tawa.
  10. Add less oil as bread absorbs more oil. If and when required, while frying the bread in batches you can add more oil.
  11. When this filling side is light golden or golden, turn over each side and toast the bread side.
  12. Toast till the bread side is crisp and golden. You can flip the toasts a couple of times more if you want.
  13. Place the toast on kitchen paper towels so that any extra oil is absorbed.
  14. Cut it in desired shape. Serve hot with DelMonte Momo Sauce.
  15. Chef s Tip : You can toast it in oven as well for oil free toasting.
  16. Variations : You can use chicken mince, paneer bhurji or minced prawns mixture as well.
