Corn Fritters
An evening chai and chit chat becomes interesting with these yummy and easy to make Corn Fritters. The crunch of Del Monte Whole Kernel Corn, the punch of Indian masalas and the richness of cream are sure to give your palate a kick!
can, sweet corn, drained completely
cup, all-purpose flour
TBSP cream
medium egg, beaten
TBSP coriander leaves, finely chopped
green chili, finely chopped
TBSP garlic cloves, finely chopped
TBSP baking powder
TBSP garam masala powder
TBSP lemon juice
salt and pepper to taste
Oil for frying
- In a bowl, combine the drained Del Monte whole kernel corn with coriander leaves, green chili, garlic cloves, garam masala powder, lemon juice and cream. Mix well toevenly spread the ingredients.
- Whip the egg into the mixand follow it up withbaking powder and all-purpose flour. Mix till itbecomesdough-like, it might feel a bit sticky, but don’t worry, it’s absolutely fine.
- Heat oil in a wide mouthed heavy bottom pan. Grease your palms with some oil and take a portion of the mixture to form a patty. Fry the patty on both the sides until golden brown and crisp. Repeat the same for the whole mixtureuntil you have beautiful golden discs at your hand.
- Take out the fried patties onto an absorbent paper towel to soak up the extra oil.
Serve your crunchy and delicious Corn Fritters with sour cream and tomato ketchupfor more flavourful fun!
Note:
If you feel the dough of the fritter is too runny, you can add a little more flour. This will help hold the shape of fritters. But make sure not to add in too much.
